About this article:"In this piglet mechanically ventilated animal model of Pseudomonas aeruginosa, partially resistant VAP , nebulized or systemic ceftazidime (MIC: 16 mg/L) were administered. Very interestingly, nebulized ceftazidime was more effective in killing Pseudomonas aeruginosa in lungs. This animal study support the concept of administering nebulized antibiotics in multidrug resistant microorganism VAP."

About this article:"This review article by Palmer summarizes the rationale and most recent studies that justify the use of aerosolized antibiotics to treat tracheobronchitis or VAP . This type of treatment migth be very useful against multiresistant microorganisms in wich systemic antibiotics can fail. The utility on prophylaxis is also covered. Currently, we have to view aersolized antibiotic as an adjuntive effective antibiotic treatment to complement systemic antibiotic therapy"

Koomanachai P. et al
About this article:"The current article reports the results of the exposure-response relationship for tigecycline against S.aureus including metilin resistance in a murine model. Authors evaluated PK/PD relationships in BAL and in serum at dosages of 1.56 to 150 mg/Kg of body weigth in a single or three divided doses. Authors concluded that tigecycline was very effective in this murine model and that the FAUC/MIC targets are achievable with the the conventional doses recommended in humans"
